Hidden deep within
A crack that's so thin
Even lesser than a pin
But deadly as sin
When darkness breaks in
It's just like toxin
Release the devil within
Or fight it back to win

Emotions, perspectives and perceptions
Sometimes blind us of judgement
Expressions, body language, misconceptions
Gives different meaning to a harmless statement
Humans after all and not contraptions
Inevitably we get caught in some predicament
Nobody's perfect and there're no exceptions
But we choose the path and lay our own pavement

Creating a sentence can be an art
Different meanings with each word pulled apart
Regardless of whether one is smart
Or read it with an open heart
Can turn a delicious tart
Into a deadly poison dart

The years have amounted to thirteen
Thoughts and feelings were then still teen
Not cherishing what can be seen
Only realizing what could have been

A cup of tea, a cigarette and a book
Seated there at your usual spot
Those wonderful dishes you used to cook
None can replicate what's in that pot
That mysterious and expressionless look
Perhaps the reason that I have got
Even though you have been took
Memories and moments we never forgot

It's been 13 years and you're still missed... Dad!

We sometimes get under the weather
As though we're about to wither
And allow ourselves to rather
Let feelings and emotions smother
All the life choices that we gather
Did we choose this from the other
At times we wonder whether
Perhaps did we even bother
To realise there's always another
Be here and now, free as a feather

The intensity of every stroke
Gliding along the invisible line
Feeling an occasional poke
As those lines begin to redefine
Thoughts and emotions spoke
As the body starts to define
A mutual connection awoke
So indescribable and divine
This special bond ain't no joke
When the author and story combine

Stepped out into a familiar place
Vivid memories slammed right in the face
For a moment fell from grace
Losing sense of direction and pace

It's inevitable to sometimes retrace
As though it's a back and forth race
Hang on tight even if it's just a lace
Here and Now we should embrace

Cos everything will eventually fall in place

Frail and fatigued looking was he
Seated on a bench between those trees
He was at least twice the age of me
Bowed down arms resting on knees

Ignorant of the what's happening around
In his own world feeling safe and sound
Drifting away deep in thought
Reminiscing his life's battles fought

Then along came a feeble looking she
Steady steps makes her feel free
Approaching him as calm as can be
Her face seems to be beaming with glee

When their eyes met on common ground
A priceless treasure seems to be found
Wonderful memories cannot be bought
Cherish every moment that we sought

Angels may fall from broken wings

Turn of events can bring unhappy things

The compass hand frantically swings

Seeking out where the heart sings

It's not over when one still sings

One door closes another one swings

Look ahead towards happier things

Grow yourself a new pair of wings

Be amazed by what tomorrow brings

Looking at how our lives have grown
The different colors, shades and tones
Reflect upon the seeds we have sown
Have we stumbled upon one too many stones
Have we followed where the wind has blown
And in return get shivers to the bones
Are we willing to venture into the unknown
By stepping out of those comfort zones
Destiny lies within heart and soul of our own
