Setback after setback with each day

Like a downward fall going all the way

The world revolves in such fragility

Turning life into such complexity

Reaching goals by means of frailty

Perhaps even resorting to cruelty

Defining lines between wealth and poverty

Losing sense of direction and certainty

What is the meaning of simplicity

And where does one seek to find clarity

Holding hands and strolling was an elderly couple

This guy's action that revealed his partners's dimple

A little boy running around happily with an apple

A toddler amazed at how a raindrop creates a ripple

Smiles and laughter are just so wonderful and simple

As I walked on to the tune of Beautiful People

This simple poem may not mean much

And it ain't gonna be as sweet as honey

But lil things from just a simple touch

Can be worth much more than money

From those who appreciate you as such
